The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) is issuing a consumer alert regarding the website https://www.Bitoke.net.

This website claims to offer services in relation to Distributed Ledger Technology (“DLT”) and cryptocurrency exchange. The provision of services surrounding DLT is a regulated activity requiring authorisation from the GFSC and the exchange of cryptocurrency is a registered activity requiring registration with the GFSC for AML/CFT supervision. 

The website http://Bitoke.net is not associated with any firm authorised by the GFSC.

Furthermore, there are no active companies registered in Gibraltar with the name “Bitoke” or similar. 

How to protect yourself

The GFSC strongly advises consumers to liaise with financial companies which are authorised by the GFSC and can be found on the GFSC's Regulated Entities Register. If a company does not appear on the Register but claims it does, contact the GFSC Regulatory Investigations team on +350 222 59050.
