Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive
The Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive 2011/61/EU ("AIFMD") was transposed in Gibraltar legislation via the Financial Services (Investment and Fiduciary Services) Act (the Act) and the Financial Services (Alternative Investment Fund Managers) Regulations 2013 (the Regulations).
Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFM) can passport services into another EEA State either by marketing an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) or by establishing a branch to manage an AIF.
Any AIFM authorised under the Act wishing to market or manage an AIF in another EEA state should notify the GFSC using the forms available in this section.
Application fee(s) must be submitted with the notification form(s). Notifications will be considered incomplete if the fee has not been paid and and will not be processed until the fee is received.
The fees apply to notifications from
- an AIFM passporting its services as a manager to funds in other jurisdictions; and
- an AIFM passporting the fund that it manages into other jurisdictions
The annual fee is not payable until your notification is approved.
||£100 per jurisdiction, subject to a maximum of £500
||£1,000 per jurisdiction, subject to a maximum of £5,000
