Auditors Regulatory Committee

All statutory auditors and audit firms are subject to public oversight, with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission as the competent authority with responsibility in this area.

The competent authority is required to be governed by non-practitioners who are knowledgeable in the areas relevant to statutory audit, and appointed following selection in accordance with an independent and transparent nomination procedure.

With this in mind the Auditors Regulatory Committee (“ARC”) was established under the Financial Services Commission Act 2007 as a committee and continues to exist in accordance with Part 3 of the Financial Services Act 2019.

Its role is to govern the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission as the competent authority in discharging its functions and duties under the Financial Services Act 2019.

The ARC consists of no less than four members appointed by the Commission from among its members and the Chief Executive. The committee is made up of members which are independent from the audit profession.

The future membership of the ARC consists of:

  • Stephen Haddrill
  • Kerry Blight
  • Emilio Gomez
  • Peter Caetano
  • Peter Isola
  • Paul Sharma
  • Paul Smee
  • Richard Hill
