The Financial Services Commission
has recently re-launched its web-site. The new web-site can now be found at
"www.fsc.gi".
The Website has recently been enhanced so as to provide more
comprehensive information about the FSC and the legislative environment in
which the Finance Centre operates. The main features are :
- All relevant legislation, guidance notes and similar documents are now
also available in Adobe Acrobat format. (Microsoft Word versions of these
documents continue to be available to users wishing to download these
documents in an editable format.)
- Banking and Insurance Newsletters.
- Directory of personal e-mail addresses for supervisory staff of the
Commission.
- Banking statistics.
- Supervisory returns.
- General information about Gibraltar and the Commission.
- Listings of regulated entities updated monthly.
The Commission views the internet as one of the most important
distribution mediums available to it. It allows a large volume of
information to be made available to a very wide audience cheaply and
speedily. As time goes on, the Commission is finding that many of its
enquiries are being handled through first contact via the web-site. This is
one of the reasons why it has also been decided to publish personal e-mail
addresses of supervisory staff. The FSC is planning to make further use of
its web-site in the coming months with more information is to be posted
shortly, including FSC Newsletters.
