The Financial Services Commission has today issued a warning to the public regarding Sky Private Bank & Trust (Gibraltar) Limited, a bogus entity.
Sky Private Bank & Trust (Gibraltar) Limited is not a Gibraltar registered company and has never been regulated by the FSC, or licensed under the Financial Services (Investment & Fiduciary Services) Act 1989, the Financial Services (Banking) Act or the Financial Services (Markets in Financial Instruments) Act 2006.
Sky Private Bank & Trust (Gibraltar) Limited had been operating a website, since taken down, in which it claimed to be licensed by the Financial Services Commission. It had also claimed to be a participant in the Gibraltar Investor Compensation Scheme (GICS) and the Gibraltar Deposit Guarantee Scheme (GDGS).
The FSC therefore urges the public to exercise appropriate caution in respect of this entity.
